President-elect Donald Trump has selected Elaine Chao to be secretay of transportation. She is 63 years old and was the first Asian American woman appointed to the cabinet when she was named secretary of Labor by George W. Bush in 2001. She was the only cabinet member to serve all eight years that Bush was in office. A Harvard Business School graduate, Chao was a banker at Citigroup and president and chief executive officer of the United Way of America before she joined the Bush administration.
