Markets rallied on the news the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s review into emails of Hillary Clinton hasn’t led to any new findings, FBI Director James Comey said yesterday. Multiple press reports said the additional emails were found on the computer of former Rep. Anthony Weiner, the New York Democrat whose estranged wife is Clinton aide Huma Abedin. The FBI was investigating Weiner’s communications with minors when it discovered the new messages.
Bloomberg reports a Samsung phone user in France says her Galaxy J5 smartphone caught fire and exploded on Sunday. That’s a different model from the Galaxy Note 7 that was recalled worldwide because of batteries overheating and catching fire. Lamya Bouyirdane told the Associated Press that she noticed the phone was hot after she asked her four-year-old son to pass it over during a family gathering. She said it had “swollen up” and smoke was coming out. The phone then caught fire and the back blew off. Bouyirdane said she bought the phone new last June on a discount website and she will sue Samsung. Samsung did not immediately respond to an email from AP seeking comment.
