15 cars fell through the ice in Lake Geneva, Wis., 50 miles southeast of Milwaukee, Saturday — a warm winter day where the main attraction was supposed to be the town’s Winterfest. No one was injured, but 10 of the 15 cars are a total loss, according Fox News. The other five could be driven away. Ice needs to be at least 8 inches thick to support a car, according to the Old Farmer’s Almanac. But white ice must be must be twice as thick as clear ice, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
