| President Obama nominated two Securities and Exchange commissioners. Lisa Fairfax, a George Washington University Law School professor and an expert on shareholder activism, is nominated to get the Democratic seat on the five-person commission. Hester Peirce, a George Mason professor and former aide on the Senate Banking Committee, will get the Republican slot. She also has worked at the SEC between 2000 and 2008. If they are confirmed, four of the five commissioners will be women. | |||||||
