Pending-home sales rose 3.1% to 107.5 in February, according to the National Association of Realtors. Economists expected 3.0%. The index tracks real-estate transactions in which a contract has been signed but the transaction hasn’t closed. The rise leaves the index 4.1% lower than its level a year ago. Pendings surged 10.3% in the Northeast, up 0.7% in the Midwest, 3.0% in the South and 0.4% here in the West. |
