International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde warned about the risks from bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. In a blog post published today, she said while blockchain could revolutionize fields beyond finance, crypto assets pose dangers including being a vehicle for money laundering and terrorism. Financial stability also is a risk due to the rapid growth of crypto assets, the extreme volatility in traded prices and the "ill-defined" connections to the traditional financial world, she wrote. |

President Trump said today he will replace Secretary of State Rex Tillerson with CIA Director Mike Pompeo. Trump asked Tillerson to step aside last Friday, according to the Washington Post. State department officials said Trump felt it was important to make the change as he prepares for talks with North Korea’s leader. On Twitter, Trump thanked Tillerson for his service and said Pompeo would do a "fantastic job." |
