Marketwatch reports Amazon.com has acquired Ring, the maker of smartphone connected video doorbells, in a deal valued at more than $1 billion. giving it a foothold in the growing internet business of home security. Annual growth in the U.S. was trimmed to a still steady 2.5% from 2.6% in the fourth quarter, according to the Commerce Department.
