The KUIK Closing Market Report for Monday, October 30:
Markets finished down.
Index Direction Change Units Index Time Change
Dow Down (85) points 23,349 2:15 PM
S&P500 Down -0.3% percent 2,573 (8.24)
Nasdaq Composite Down 0.0% percent 6,699 (2.30)
30 Year Treasury Down (6) basis points 2.88 Annual Yield
The Treasury expects to borrow $275 billion in the fourth quarter. That’s $226 billion less than its previous estimate. Thate includes an end-of-quarter cash of $205 billion. Analysts said debt ceiling constraints are making it difficult for the government to project borrowing and the government will hit the debt ceiling in the first quarter unless Congress acts to allow borrowing.
