President Trump said today that he has had four meetings in his search for a new Federal Reserve chairman and a decision would come in two or three weeks. The Wall Street Journal reported that the President met with Kevin Warsh and Jay Powell. Warsh is a former Fed governor. He has been critical of the Fed since leaving in 2011.Powell is a current Fed governor abd former top Treasury official under President George H.W. Bush. He was a partner at the Carlyle Group before joining the Fed in 2012. His term expires in 2028.
