The National Association of Realtors’ pending home sales index fell 2.6% in August to 106.3. That was the lowest reading since January 2016 and puts the index 2.6% lower than a year ago. By region it fell 4.4 in the Northeast. 1.5% in the Midwest, 3.5% in the South, and 1.0% here in the West.
