Senate GOP leaders abandoned their effort to dismantle and replace Obamacare. GOP Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Jerry Moran of Kansas on Monday night became the third and fourth Republicans to oppose the latest version of the GOP bill, which would have rolled back and replaced much of the Affordable Care Act. Republicans had already lost votes, from Sens. Rand Paul of Kentucky and Susan Collins of Maine, and the new opposition from Lee and Moran meant Senate leaders didn’t have enough support to advance the bill in a procedural vote. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said the Senate would vote “in coming days” on a bill it passed in late 2015 to repeal most of the Affordable Care Act, which then President Obama vetoed in January 2016.
Yesterday President Trump hosted companies from across the country at the White House for the Made in America Product Showcase. He highlighted state’s effort and commitment to American made products by showing products from all 50 states. Oregon was represented by Leupold and Stevens and its sights and scopes, and Washington by Liberty Bottleworks and their water bottles.
