The Federal Reserve raised its fed funds rate to a range between 0.75% and 1%. That was the third increase in ten yers but also the second time in three months. Janet Yellen pointed to steady U.S. growth, an improving labor market and greater confidence among consumers and businesses to justify its decision to raise rates.
