Securities and Exchange Commission Chairwoman Mary Jo White announced today that she plans to leave the agency at the end of President Obama’s term. She took over as head of the SEC in April 2013. Under White the agency advanced more than 50 significant rulemaking initiatives, brought more than 2,850 enforcement actions more than any other three-year period in the SEC’s history, and collected more than $13.4 billion in penalties and sanctions. The Commission also charged over 3,300 companies and over 2,700 individuals.
