The KUIK Closing Market Report for Thursday, November 10:

Markets were mixed.

Index Direction Change Units Index Time Change
Dow Up                    218 points         18,808 2:33 PM
S&P500 Up 0.2% percent           2,167          4.22
Nasdaq Composite Down -0.8% percent           5,209       (42.28)
30 Year Treasury Up                       5 Basis Points            2.93 Annual Yield

Shares of Fannie Mae  and Freddie Mac have rallied this week as President-elect Donald Trump works with advisors seen as sympathetic to shareholders. Shares of Fannie are up about 41% and Freddie shares up  46% sinces Tuesday. They were placed under federal conservatorship during the 2008 financial crisis, and in 2012 the Obama administration amended the terms of the agreement to sweep quarterly profits from the companies, a move that’s been challenged by shareholders.
