Closing Market Report 10/27/2016

The KUIK Closing Market Report for Thursday, October 27:
Markets ended mixed.
Index Direction Change Units Index Time Change
Dow Down                    (30) points         18,170 2:43 PM
S&P500 Down -0.3% percent           2,133       (6.39)
Nasdaq Composite Down -0.7% percent           5,216     (34.29)
30 Year Treasury Up                       6 Basis Points            2.60 Annual Yield
Global bond markets sold off sharply today, with the yield on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note closing at 1.85%, its highest level since June on doubts about more monetary stimulus by major central banks. Remarks from a Governor of the Bank of Japan reiterating a desire for a steeper Japanese yield curve contributed to early selling, while a stronger-than-expected reading on U.K. gross domestic product added to the selloff.
