Catherine Mann, the chief economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, is concerned the Fed is “crying wolf,” always threatening a rate hike but not moving. She said the Fed’s inaction is fueling unproductive moves in asset markets. Ahead of the Federal Open Market Committee decision next Wednesday, Mann wants the central bank to increase interest rates as soon as possible.
