The KUIK Market Update for Wednesday, June 10:
Markets are up.

S&P500 Up 0.9% percent             2,098      18.04
Nasdaq Composite Up 0.9% percent             5,061      47.32

The Stoxx Europe 600 index  jumped 0.8% to 387.11 after logging its longest losing streak since December yesterday.  A selloff in European government bonds and Greece’s impasse with its international creditors have weighed heavily on stocks over the past week, with the index closing lower for a sixth straight session yesterday.
For Greece, time is running out to strike an agreement to unlock new financing, with Athens facing major debt repayments later in the month. On Tuesday, European officials quickly dismissed a Greek compromise proposal, saying it didn’t go far enough in meeting creditors’ demands.
Spending on health care in the U.S. fell at a 0.4% annual rate in the first quarter, suggesting gross domestic product will be revised even lower. The U.S. economy contracted by 0.7% in the first three months of the year, but the goverment will revise the data for a second time at the end of the month. The revision will take into account fresh data from the Commerce Department’s quarterly services survey that tracks spending in fields such as health care, finance, law and entertainment. Health care is the second biggest service sector by spending after finance.  Over the past year health-care spending has risen at an unadjusted 7.2% pace.
