Entrepreneur Kevin Halpern has filed a lawsuit against Uber and some of its investors, alleging that they stole his idea for an on-demand ride-hailing company. In a suit filed in the San Francisco Superior Court, Halpern said he was the “original inventor” of the idea, technology and intellectual property that was used to develop on-demand ride-hailing using cell phones and GPS technology. The complaint said that Uber chief executive Travis Kalanick and co-founder Garrett Camp met with Halpern several times starting in 2006, and then later took the idea he had outlined to them to develop Uber. |
