The U.S. debt limit goes into effect Monday after a one-year suspension, with a ceiling of around $18 trillion. The Treasury can fund the government until October through extraordinary measures, according to Congressional Budget Office estimates. And the Bipartisan Policy Center in a new report says hittiig in the debt limit could be put off until the end of the December. Senate Majority Leader Republican Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, has said he won’t let the government default or shut down. |
