| The LA Times reports names and driver’s license numbers of thousands of Uber drivers “may be in the hands of an unauthorized third party” due to a data breach last year. Uber found one of its databases with information on about 50,000 former and current Uber drivers from various states, including 21,000 based in California had been accessed once on May 13, 2014. It patched the security vulnerability immediately and it has not received any reports of misuse of the data. | |||||||
