The Commerce Department reported US retail sales fell in September for the first time in eight months down a seasonally adjusted 0.3%, mainly because of lower purchases of cars, trucks, and gasoline, but helped by the new Iphone. Sales at electronics stores jumped 3.4% for the biggest gain in 18 months. |
