Oracle Chief Executive Larry Ellison debuted a new database system that relies on in-memory technology, which the company said allows customers to process business information faster in real-time. “The system is economical, scalable, as well as fast,” Ellison said at an event at Oracle headquarters in Redwood City, Calif. Speed is the key selling point. The time it takes to run a financial analysis program was cut from four hours to roughly 12 seconds. |
