The number of jobs openings in November reached 4 million, up more than 5% from a year earlier, hitting the highest level since March 2008, according to the Labor Department. Layoffs fell to 1.46 million, a record low with data going back to 2000. People quiting rose to 2.43 millions, the most since September 2008, showing that workers are seeing better prospects and willing to move on. |
