The Federal Reserve should pledge not to raise its benchmark interest rate as long as inflation remains below 1.5%, said James Bullard, the president of the St. Louis Fed Bank, on Friday. “It would signal we are serious about defending the inflation target from the downside,” Bullard said in a Bloomberg Radio interview.
