The Treasury announced it plans to sell its remaining stake in General Motors by as early as January.    GM will buy back 200 million shares at $27.50 in a deal that should close by the end of the year, and Treasury will sell the other 300 million   shares as soon as January, depending on market conditions. Taxpayers will end up losing about $12.6 billion.
The   World Bank sees strong growth in Asia. It expects growth in East Asia to pick up to 6.6% in 2013 and 2014, from 5.8% in 2012.
Japanese stockslead a broad rally for Asian markets Wednesday, with the Nikkei Stock Average going over the 10,000-point mark for its highest finish since early April due to gains for financials and   exporters.  The Nikkei 2.4% to 10,160, taking its year-to-date gains to more than 20%.
Everybody wants to be a kid again.  Marketwatch reports the top toys this year are retro, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, E.T. and Furby dolls.  Shipping containers filled with Power Rangers arriving at U.S. ports during the August-through-October retailer order window was up 91% this year from last year.
