Apple posted a sharp gain in earnings for its third fiscal quarter which it reported after the close, but the company missed Wall Street’s targets as sales of the iPhone fell 26% from the previous period. Apple shipped 26 million iPhone units during the June quarter, but analysts expected 28 million units shipped. The company gave a lower-than-expected forecast for the September quarter. Shares of Apple are down more than 5% in late trading. |
