First-time jobless claims fell by a 1,000 to a seasonally adjusted 367,000 in the week ended May 5, according to the Labor Department. Claims from two weeks ago were revised up to 368,000 from an original reading of 365,000. |
The Labor Department also reported import prices fell 0.5% in April after a revised 1.5% spike in March, mainly as the price of oil receded. Economists surveyed by MarketWatch expected a 0.2% decline |
