The index of U.S. leading indicators rose for a sixth month in   March.  The Conference Board’s gauge of   the outlook for the next three to six months climbed 0.3 percent after a 0.7   percent gain in February that was the biggest in 11 months. The median   forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for a 0.2 percent rise in   March.
 Manufacturing activity in the Philadelphia   region grew at a slower pace in April according to the Philadelphia Federal   Reserve. The bank’s business condition index fell to 8.5 from 12.5 in March.   Economists polled by MarketWatch expected the index to fall to 10.8.
