The move is aimed at supporting growth and increasing inflation expectations in the eurozone.
The initial reading of the Markit US manufacturing purchasing managers index edged lower in January to a 53.7 from 53.9 in December, to mark the lowest reading in 12 months.
Sales of existing homes rose 2.4% in December to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 5.04 million, according to the National Association of Realtors. Economists expected 5.08 million in December up from an originally reported 4.93 million in November. The median sales price of used homes hit $209,500 in December, up 6.0% from December 2013.
