Student loans have become a serious burden for “far too many borrowers” and more research is needed in figuring out this “troubling” trend, according to Treasury Deputy Secretary Sarah Bloom Raskin in a speech to the National Association for Business Economics meeting in Chicago. Americans owed over $1 trillion in student loans at the end of 2013, more than any other country, and up from $500 billion at the end of 2007 |
