| Sen. Jack Reed of Rhode Island announced on his Twitter feed that a bipartisan deal has been reached to renew unemployment insurance benefits for five months. Benefits lapsed at the end of last year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said earlier that a deal was getting close and he intended to have the Senate consider it after lawmakers return next week. | |||||||
