| Former Democratic New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine could face charges from federal regulators as early as this week over his role in the collapse of commodities firm MF Global, according to the New York Times. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission is set to approve the civil lawsuit and has informed Corzine’s lawyers there will not be an opportunity to settle. Corzine was heading the firm, when it declared bankruptcy in 2011 over exposure to European investments. More than $1 billion in customer money disappeared in the last days of the collapse of the firm. Corzine has denied any wrongdoing. | |||||||
