Closing Market Report 12/19/2017

The KUIK Closing Market Report for Tuesday, December 19:
Markets were down.
Index Direction Change Units Index Time Change
Dow Down (37) points 24,755 2:56 PM
S&P500 Down -0.3% percent 2,681 (1.26)
Nasdaq Composite Down -0.4% percent 6,964 13.48
30 Year Treasury Up 8 basis points 2.82 Annual Yield
The ICE U.S. Dollar Index DXY, a measure of the U.S. dollar against six others, fell 0.26%. Expectations the tax package would spur the return of funds held abroad by major corporations and stir up stronger economic growth are viewed as dollar friendly. But traders are also worried about the fiscal impact. The House, as expected, passed the legislation today, but it needs a do-over to incorporate three changes from the Senate after its vote.
