The Business Roundtable said theindex that measures the confidence of the nation’s top executives rose in the second quarter to the highest level since 2014. 36% of CEO’s said they plan to hire in the next six months, down from 41% in the first quarter. 43% said they plan to increase investment, down from 46%. The roundtable estimates gross domestic product will grow 2% in 2017 vs the prior 2.2% target. In 2016, the U.S. expanded 1.6%.
