| The Labor Department reports initial claims for unemployment benefits were unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 276,000 for the week ended November 7, holding near a 15 year low. Economists expected 268,000. | |||||||
| Daily fantasy sports site FanDuel said it is considering “all legal options” after the New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman issued a cease-and-desist order Monday for the company’s operations. Calling FanDuel and DraftKings “massive, multibillion-dollar schemes intended to evade the law and fleece sports fans across the country.” On a conference call yesterday, FanDuel CEO Nigel Eccles called the Attorney General’s decision “very extreme and very sudden,” but said the Manhattan-based company is confident it will be able to persuade him that his “analysis of New York gambling law is wrong.” | |||||||
