Switzerland’s Central Bank made $55 billion last year—more than Apple made.
The central bank emerged as a major money manager with a nearly $800 billion portfolio of foreign stocks and bonds, as it expects to report a record annual profit of $55 billion for last year—which equals 8% of the country’s entire GDP.
Air freight traffic is up: everything from dog food to semiconductors are vying for air cargo space. Passenger and dedicated cargo planes are picking up more kinds of cargo traditionally carried by container ships, trains and trucks. Global air freight traffic climbed almost 9% year-over-year in November. Rates for air freight were up as much as 17%.
$100 billion in Crypto market value vanished on Monday.
A website called coinmarketcap.com removed data on South Korean exchanges from its price quotes for a range of virtual currencies including bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple’s XRP. The move followed a South Korean government crackdown on cryptocurrencies.
