CoreLogic reported a nationwide 7.1% gain in house prices in the 12 months ending March. The Pacific Northwest led, with a 12.8% gain for Washington and 9.4% for Oregon. West Virginia and Alaska were the only two states that saw prices drop, with West Virginia down 1.2% and Alaska off 0.8%. Solid growth in jobs, low interest rates, and limited inventory have all helped prop up house prices.
