The California Department of Insurance announced today it has launched an investigation into allegations made by former employees of Prudential Insurance in a lawsuit that they were fired in retaliation for reporting that Wells Fargo employees signed up consumers for Prudential insurance without the consumers’ knowledge or authorization. Prudential has a partnership with Wells Fargo to sell insurance products to the bank’s customers.
