“The Federal Reserve raised interest ratestoday for the first time since 2006. Policy makers voted 10 to 0 to raise the target range of its key fed-funds rate by a quarter-point. Rates had been stuck at zero for seven years. Fed Chairman Janet Yellen said the economy was ready for a rate hike and solid consumer spending and business investment were offsetting weakness in exports.
