| The U.S. Energy Information Administration said that crude inventories rose by 10.1 million barrels in the week ended January 16 to 387.9 million barrels. Analysts polled by Platts had expected an increase of only 2.5 million barrels. The last time U.S. crude inventories hovered around 400 million barrels was July 1924, when Calvin Coolidge was the president. | |||||||
