Market Update Report 10/10/2014

The KUIK Market Update Report for Friday, October 10:
Markets are down.
Index Direction Change Units Time Change
Dow Down                       (47) points           16,612 7:33 AM
S&P500 Down -0.8% percent             1,913           (15.30)
Nasdaq Composite Down -1.8% percent             4,300           (77.94)
30 Year Treasury Down                         (2) Basis Points               3.04 Annual Yield
Global oil prices have been falling on a combination of bearish factors including high U.S. oil production, a surge in Libyan oil output, a seasonal peak in refinery maintenance and weak demand from Asia and Europe.
Stocks have dropped amid this week’s big swings, dragged down mostly by worries about growth, the end of QE by the Fed, a surging dollar and weakness in small caps
The S&P 500 is reversing early morning gains and edging lower. There is a sense of “defensive” trade, as utilities and consumer staples sector stocks are up sharply, while technology and energy are main losers.
Serving the West Side first, I am Mike Elerath of BR Capital for 1360 KUIK.
