The Department of Labor reports the producer-price index fell 0.1% in November, after a 0.2% drop in October and a 0.1% fall in September. Prices last fell for three months in a row at the end of 2012. The core producer-price index, which excludes food and energy, increased 0.1% and the report met expectations.
 Ireland today became the first euro-zone country to exit its 85-billion euro bailout program, which was put in place in 2010 by the EU and the International Monetary Fund.
The European Banking Authority warned of risks from buying, holding, or trading virtual currencies such as bitcoin, which adds to last week’s warnings from the French, Dutch, and Chinese banking authorities. The EBA says consumers are not protected by regulation when using virtual currencies and could be at risk of losing their money.
Bloomberg reports Google is considering making its own server processors, which could pose a threat to Intel. Google would use technology from ARM Holdings and could encourage other Internet companies to do the same, according to atrick Wang, analyst at Evercore Partners. The source said Google had made no decisions. Google, Intel, and ARM all declined to comment on the report.
