Market Update Report 4/4/2013

The KUIK Market Update for Thursday, April 4:
Markets are mixed.

Initial jobless claims rose by 28,000 to a seasonally adjusted 385,000 in the week ended March 30, according to the Labor Department. That’s   the highest level in four months.  Economists polled by MarketWatch expected a drop to 350,000.
The Bank of Japan announced an aggressive easing program to to pull the  world’s third-largest economy   out of a 15 year spiral of deflation.  The central bank said it would buy Japanese Government Bonds so that the amount outstanding will increase at an annual rate of about ¥50 trillion   ($530 billion).  Markets reacted, with the dollar rising to against the, and the Nikkei swung from big losses to a close up 2.2%.
Instawallet, a site that offered a service to allow people to store  bitcoins–a digital currency   alternative, announced its site had been hacked. Instawallet said it will suspend its service until it can develop an alternative architecture.  The company plans to open a claim process   for Instawallet balance holders to get their funds in the next few  days.
