| Home prices declined in November on seasonal weakness, with 10 of 20 cities seeing lower prices in the month, according to the S&P/Case-Shiller home-price index. The 20-city composite dropped a non-seasonally adjusted 0.1% in November and 0.2% in October. | |||||||
| The Associated Press reports Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is planning to leave the Obama administration after a successor is confirmed by the Senate. LaHood, a former Illinois Republican congressman, oversaw demands for tougher fuel-efficiency requirements for automakers, among other initiatives. LaHood told the AP he expects to remain in his current job for about two months. | |||||||
| Oil futures climbed above $97 a barrel, with tensions in the Middle East providing support as traders wait for this week’s report on U.S. petroleum supplies. March crude rose 0.6%, to trade at $97.05 a barrel on the New York Merc. Prices haven’t closed above $97 since mid-September. | |||||||
