The   jobs report was released this morning.  The Labor Department reported the U.S. created a better-than-expected   171,000 jobs in October and hiring rose faster in prior months than   previously believed, but the politically sensitive unemployment number edged up to 7.9%.
The Commerce Department says Factory orders rebounded 4.8% in September, meeting expectations and almost reversing a drop in August.
Oil futures are down, pressured as the U.S. dollar strengths because of of better-than-expected employment data and as energy marketd fret   over lost demand iafter Hurricane  December crude is off 1.6%, to $85.68 a barrel on the New York Merc.
Retail groups opposed to a settlement of a $7.25 billion settlement of a lawsuit over merchant credit-card fees have support from 1,200 businesses and trade associations of the 7 million covered by the deal   including 7-Eleven and Dollar General. They say the settlement would provide neither transparency or   competition into the market for trillions of dollars in credit card fees.
